Anti-corruption drive goes on: DPM Shrestha
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha on Friday said the government’s step against corruption had instilled a hope in general people.
Also the Vice Chair of the CPN (Maoist Centre), he said Maoist Centre had launched a campaign from the government, parliament and street for good governance, economic prosperity and justice.
During a programme organised by the Maoist Centre district coordination committee, Lalitpur on Friday, he opined, “Smugglers, thugs and corrupt people have been terrified by the campaign launched by the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The general people have been happy with this campaign.”
The government is firm on continuing the campaign, he said, adding, “We continue the anti-corruption drive firmly. It has support of general people as well.”
Ranging from the fake Bhutanese refugee scam to the Lalita Niwas land scam and loan sharking considered a remnant of feudalism, the government’s efforts are a part of its campaign against bad governance, according to him.
On the occasion, 150 people joined the Maoist Centre. Welcoming the people who joined the party, DPM Shrestha urged them to support the government’s campaign for good governance.
