Australia’s Ambassador to Nepal Urged to Help Find Missing Nepali Student in Sydney
Australia’s Ambassador to Nepal, Felicity Volk, has been requested to assist in locating Subash Bolakhe, a Nepali student who has reportedly been missing from Sydney, Australia, for the past 18 days.
Mahesh Kharel, the mayor of Panchkhal Municipality, visited the Australian Embassy in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, today, accompanied by Subash’s family. The mayor sought the cooperation of the Australian government in the search for the 27-year-old student, who had gone to Australia nine months ago to pursue higher studies.
In response, Ambassador Volk assured the family of a prompt search operation to locate Subash. The missing student had been living alone in Sydney and has not been in contact with his family, according to his father, Sudarshan Bolakhe.
“We are hopeful of good news regarding our son soon after meeting with the ambassador,” said Subash’s father, expressing optimism after the meeting.
The Bolakhe family has also appealed to the Nepali community in Sydney and other concerned bodies for support in finding Subash.
