Bara: Five Arrested with 61,000 Counterfeit Notes

In a significant crackdown on counterfeit currency operations, authorities have apprehended five individuals with a staggering haul of fake notes in Bara, Nepal. The arrests were made following a coordinated effort by law enforcement agencies, signaling a decisive blow against illegal financial activities in the region.

Among those detained are 44-year-old Ram Chandra Mahato Koiri hailing from Sarlahi Chandranagar Rural Municipality-3, Sumit Sah from Bara Parwanipur Rural Municipality-5, as well as Santosh Patel, Bishal Kumar Srivastav, and Niraj Srivastav from Birgunj-10. Their apprehension underscores the collaborative efforts of authorities to combat the proliferation of counterfeit currency networks.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Dadhi Ram Neupane provided insights into the operation, revealing that the arrests transpired in Jitpur Bazar, Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-7 on Wednesday. Neupane emphasized that the individuals were caught red-handed with a substantial cache of counterfeit notes amounting to 61,000 Nepalese Rupees, all in the denomination of Rs 1,000.

The arrest serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against illicit financial activities and the resolve of law enforcement to uphold the integrity of the financial system.
