Tragic Bus Accident Claims Life of Tribhuvan University Professor in Kirtipur

A devastating bus accident in Kirtipur on Sunday resulted in the death of a Tribhuvan University professor, stirring sorrow among the university community and locals. The bus, identified by its registration number Ba 3 Kha 2027, was en route from Ratnapark to Kirtipur when the incident occurred.

Professor Dr. Govinda Rijal, who was among the passengers, tragically lost his life. Known for his contributions to the academic community, the loss of Professor Rijal has deeply affected students and faculty alike.

Additionally, three individuals were injured in the accident: Dambar Panta (24), Bimala Shrestha (24), and the bus driver, Ramesh Lama (27). They are currently undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center, where they are reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Meanwhile, members of the community and colleagues from Tribhuvan University have been extending their condolences and remembering Professor Rijal’s significant impact on education and research.
