Chinese national sexually abused rural minors of Nepal; Investigation Underway
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on last Saturday received a report that a girl from Jhapa was missing. The girl was from an ordinary family. She sometimes used to go out for events as she belonged to the scouts.
The girl’s father went abroad for work and was out of touch. She was living with her mother. Although the girl did not come home from school on Thursday, the mother did not care much, saying that she might have gone to a scout program. However, the mother was alarmed when her daughter did not come home even on Friday. She informed the local leader.
During the search, they went to the school, but it was revealed that the girl had not come to school for a month. The girl, studying in class 6, had told her friends that a “Chinese uncle” loves and gives her money. Then that information came to CIB.
The CIB arrested the Chinese citizen on the same day. According to the CIB, the Chinese citizen himself came to the police with the girl after receiving information about the incident.
Such a deed of Chinese National
It is said that the arrested Chinese citizen, 49-year-old Yang Li Ming, got to know the minor through Facebook and sexually exploited her by showing his greed for money.
According to SP Sanjay Singh Thapa, spokesperson for the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, Chinese national, who was living in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-22, Bungmati and operating Coca New Puree and Mattress Company, used to know minors through Facebook, calls them to Kathmandu and engages them in various recreational activities, and sexually exploits them by showing financial temptation.
So far, it has been revealed that two out of six minors have been sexually exploited,” SP Thapa said.
Chinese citizen especially used to target poor girls.After getting to know each other through Facebook and by providing money, he used to call them to Kathmandu for visiting and to enjoy. Then he used to sexually exploit girls who were attracted to him. It is also found that the girls were also used to get him to know the other girls to sexuallly exploit them by calling to Kathmandu.
The minors aged 14 to 17 years were trapped in the greed of money. Six girls from Jhapa, Kaski and other districts have been rescued.
The CIB has handed over the Chinese national to the Lalitpur police for further action. He has been taken into custody and an investigation is underway.
