CIAA Pokhara Office Submits Annual Report to Gandaki Province Chief

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Pokhara Office, handed over its annual report for the fiscal year 2079-80 BS (corresponding to FY 2022-23) to Province Chief Prithviman Gurung. The presentation took place during a ceremony at the Office of the Province Chief.

In a formal gathering at the Province Chief’s office, Santosh Timilsina, the head of the Pokhara CIAA Office, delivered the annual report. According to Timalsina, out of the 1,442 complaints the office received during FY 2079/80, a total of 978 complaints, accounting for 67.82 percent, were effectively addressed.

These complaints were diverse in nature, with 35.95 percent concerning federal affairs (including local levels), 14.55 percent related to education (including local levels), and 6.09 percent associated with land administration, among other issues.

Throughout the year, the CIAA conducted investigations that led to the registration of 162 cases in the special court.

During the presentation, Province Chief Gurung emphasized the importance of the CIAA’s actions in instilling confidence among citizens in the constitutional system. He encouraged the CIAA to ensure that their efforts contribute to strengthening public faith in both the Constitution and the governing system.

The CIAA’s continuous efforts to combat corruption and uphold accountability are essential for maintaining good governance and transparency, ensuring a system that people can trust.
