CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal has underscored the need of ensuring the constitutional rights of people with disability.

Issuing a statement on the occasion of the 32nd International Day of the Persons with Disabilities today, he stressed on making the public places and various work places disable-friendly in line with the constitutional provisions.

Stating that the people’s economic and social transformation should be maintained in the country by putting to an end all types of discriminations existing in society, former PM Nepal called for ending the caste, gender and class-based discriminations as these are the impediments in maintaining social unity in the nation full of diversities.

He viewed that the political revolution has been completed in the country through the people’s movements at different times, saying it was the responsibility of the state to protect the constitutional rights of the citizen to social justice as well as equality.
