Death Toll from Landslides and Floods Reaches 217, 28 Still Missing
The death toll from the recent landslides and floods triggered by continuous rainfall has risen to 217, with 28 people still missing, according to the latest update from the Home Ministry.
Ministry Spokesperson Rishiram Tiwari reported that 143 individuals have been injured in these natural disasters, which have wreaked havoc across multiple regions. All available security agencies have been mobilized for search, rescue, and relief operations, with efforts focused on providing aid to those affected.
“The injured are receiving treatment at various health facilities, and immediate relief materials have been distributed to the disaster-hit communities,” Tiwari stated.
In addition to rescue and relief, priority is being given to reopening blocked roadways, with teams working to restore vital infrastructure and ensure aid reaches remote areas.
