EC Announces Plans for NA Elections

The Election Commission (EC) in Kathmandu has unveiled its comprehensive plans for the upcoming National Assembly elections scheduled for January 25. With the election date finalized following the government’s announcement, the EC has set a timeline for various crucial activities leading up to the polls.

Starting from December 10 and concluding on December 15, all political parties are invited to register for participation in the elections. On December 17, the commission will allocate election symbols to the registered parties, adding a visual element to the electoral process.

To ensure a seamless electoral journey, the EC will appoint the election officer on January 1, 2024. The election program is scheduled to run from January 5 to January 14, encompassing various stages of the electoral process.

While the specific deadline for candidate registration remains pending, the commission is actively considering setting the registration date for January 5. A formal decision on this matter is expected to be reached today, providing clarity for potential candidates seeking to participate in the National Assembly elections.
