The Embassy of Nepal in Ottawa successfully issued 400 passports during a two-day mobile consular camp held in Toronto on November 16-17, 2024. The initiative aimed to provide passport and consular services closer to the Nepali diaspora residing in Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
This was the third mobile camp organized in the GTA within the past year, reflecting the Embassy’s commitment to making essential services accessible to Nepalis across Canada. According to a press release by the Embassy, the event was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Passports, Honorary Consulate of Nepal in Toronto, Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) NCC Canada, and other community organizations in the region.
In addition to Toronto, similar camps have been held in Edmonton, Vancouver, Halifax, and Calgary over the past six months. The Embassy expressed gratitude to the Nepali diaspora for their support and active participation in these efforts.
The Embassy also reaffirmed its plans to organize more mobile consular camps in other Canadian cities with significant Nepali populations to better serve the community. This initiative underscores the Embassy’s dedication to facilitating the needs of the Nepali diaspora across Canada.
