Final List of Voters for National Assembly Election Unveiled: 549 from Province Assemblies, 1,498 from Local Levels

The Election Commission (EC) has officially released the definitive list of voters for the forthcoming National Assembly election. In a press release issued on Sunday, the EC confirmed the publication of the final voter lists at the election officers’ offices across all seven provinces.

According to the EC update, the finalized list comprises 549 voters from the seven provincial assemblies and 1,498 voters from local levels. The total vote weightage, where one vote equals 53 votes, stands at 29,097 from the provinces and 28,462 from local levels.

Categorically, the Koshi Province members contribute 93 votes, with 377 voters from rural municipality chair, vice-chairs, mayors, and deputy mayors combined.

In Madhes Province, there are a total of 374 voters, including 107 province assembly members and 267 mayors and deputy mayors of metropolis, sub-metropolis, municipalities, chiefs, and deputy chiefs of rural municipalities. The total weightage of votes from province assembly members in Madhes Province is 5,571, and 5,073 from the chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of rural municipalities, mayors, and deputy mayors.

Bagmati Province reports 347 voters, including 110 province assembly members, with a cumulative vote weightage of 10,333.

In Gandaki Province, the number of voters is 230, with a total vote weightage of 6,410.

Lumbini Province has a total of 305 voters, including 87 province assembly members and 218 voters from rural municipality chairpersons and vice-chairpersons. The province’s vote accumulation is 8,753, encompassing 4,611 from province assembly members and 4,142 from rural municipality chairpersons and vice-chairpersons.

Karnali Province records 40 province assembly members and 156 rural municipality chairpersons and vice-chairpersons combined. The province’s total vote weightage is 5,084, with 2,120 votes from province assembly members and 2,120 from rural municipalities.

Sudurpaschim Province has 228 voters, comprising 52 province assembly members and 173 rural municipality chairpersons and vice-chairpersons. The province’s total weightage of votes is 6,100, including 2,756 from province assembly members and 3,344 from rural municipality chairpersons and vice-chairpersons, as stated by the Election Commission of Nepal.

The release of the final voter lists marks a crucial step toward the upcoming National Assembly election, providing a transparent overview of the representation from both provincial assemblies and local levels. The Election Commission encourages all eligible voters to participate actively in the democratic process.
