Five DIGs recommended for promotion to AIG
Five deputy inspector generals (DIGs) of Nepal Police have been recommended for promotion to the vacant posts of Additional Inspector Generals (AIGs)
A meeting of the Promotional Recommendation Committee held at the ministry on Friday made the recommendation as per the Nepal Police Regulations, 2014.
Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, Tek Prasad Rai, Deepak Thapa, Shyama Lal Gyawali and Kiran Bajracharya are among those recommended for the promotion.
Basanta Bahadur Kunwar tops the list with 69.7372 marks. He had topped the list during promotion to DIG as well.
Ashok Singh, who was one of the frontrunners for promotion to AIG, tendered resignation few weeks ago due to date of birth controversy.
Gyawali, who has been recommended for promotion, is also embroiled in date of birth controversy. Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) is investigation a complaint about his date of birth.
