Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud to Embark on Official Visit to the United States

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Prakash Saud, is set to depart for the United States of America on October 29, marking an official visit aimed at bolstering Nepal’s diplomatic ties with the U.S.

During his visit, Minister Saud is scheduled to engage in a crucial bilateral meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken, on October 30. This meeting is anticipated to encompass discussions on various aspects of Nepal-U.S. relations and cooperation.

Additionally, the Foreign Minister will hold meetings with prominent U.S. officials, including Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, and Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Alice P. Albright. The discussions will encompass matters of mutual interest and collaboration between the two nations.

As part of his visit, Minister Saud will also pay a courtesy call to Co-Chair of the U.S. Congressional Nepal Caucus, Mike Kelly, emphasizing the significance of the Nepal-U.S. parliamentary relationship.

Furthermore, the Foreign Minister will participate in the United States Institute of Peace Program, engage with the Nepali-U.S. business community, and interact with representatives from the information technology advisory network. He will also meet with members of the Non-Resident Nepali Association and Nepali-U.S. business individuals.

The Nepali delegation accompanying Minister Saud will include Ambassador to the U.S., Shreedhar Khatry, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nepali Embassy in Washington, D.C. Notably, representatives from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the American Chamber of Commerce will also be part of the delegation.

Minister Saud is slated to return to Nepal on November 5 upon concluding his official visit to the United States.
