Ghorahi sub-metropolis unveils budget of Rs 2.15 billion

Ghorahi sub-metropolis has presented a budget of Rs 2.15 billion for the coming fiscal year 2080/81 BS.

Deputy Mayor of Ghorahi sub-metropolis, Huma DC, unveiled the budget of Rs 2.15 billion with Rs 1.28 billion current expenditure and Rs 875.14 million capital expenditure in 13th municipal assembly on Sunday.

The size of the budget for coming fiscal year has decreased by 7.45 per cent as compared to current fiscal year. Ghorahi sub-metropolis had presented a budget of Rs 2.32 billion in the current fiscal year 2079/80 BS.

Of the total budget, Rs 1.28 billion has been allocated for current expenditure and Rs 875.14 million for capital expenditure.

Of the budget, the Rs 765.9 million would be received from federal government and Rs 47.85 million from province government as conditional grant.

The budget was prepared giving priority to construction of educational physical infrastructures, increasing quality of education through volunteer teachers, bringing deep water boring projects into operation for the expansion of irrigation facility, strengthening capacity of health institutions and expanding basic health services, said Deputy-Mayor DC.

The budget has also set a target of making sustainable and balanced development of all sectors as per the integrated urban development model, blacktopping main roads of wards, improving living standard through economic and social development, making the journey of development, prosperity and social justice more dynamic ending all types of social and financial discrimination, making public service delivery easy and smooth, promoting good governance through people’s participation in development and helping to reduce poverty.
