Gold Smuggling Case: Rohan Adukia arrested

Rohan Adukia, the son of prominent businessman Rakesh Adukia, has been apprehended by the Department of Immigration (DoI) upon his arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. Adukia’s arrest is linked to an ongoing gold smuggling case that has captured the attention of authorities and the public alike.

Sources reveal that the DoI executed the arrest on Friday, soon after Rohan Adukia’s return from India. The DoI’s action was taken in response to a request from the Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI), which had previously blacklisted Adukia. As preparations are underway for his transfer to the DRI, the case’s intricate details are expected to unfold further.

This arrest comes in the wake of a recent raid conducted by the police at Rakesh Adukia’s residence, adding to the growing intrigue surrounding the case. Authorities have been working tirelessly to uncover the extent of the alleged smuggling operation and any potential connections to the broader network.

In a separate incident on the same day, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police detained two Chinese nationals, Li Jialin and Liu Fuyan, at the TIA. The two individuals were apprehended at 8 AM as they were about to board a Himalaya Air flight bound for China at 9 AM. The circumstances of their detention and any potential links to the ongoing investigation remain under investigation.
