Government’s Budget Falls Short in Boosting Economy, Dr. Swarnim Wagle Says

Lawmaker Dr Swarnim Wagle has commented that the budget presented by the government for the coming fiscal year 2080/81 would not make any stride in the economic sector.

Taking part in the ongoing discussion on the budget in the second meeting of the House of Representatives today, Dr Wagle suggested government advanced for ‘fundamental course correction’.

Challenges were seen in the current fiscal year to achieve revenue targets.

Similarly, lawmaker Manju Sharma said the budget for the coming fiscal year was not in favour of the people while lawmaker Shankar Bhandari mentioned that the country failed to achieve economic prosperity due to political instability.

Likewise, lawmaker Bhim Prasad Acharya shared that the budget had failed to address the burning issues of the country.

Prem Suwal expressed the view that existing rule of law can not deliver people-oriented programmes until socialist system is established for working class people.

Lawmaker Dhawal Shumsher JB Rana added that Nepali farmers should be made capable to compete with production of Indian farmers by increasing grant for Nepali farmers.

Similarly, Rajendra Kumar Rai demanded rewriting of budget.
