Govt intensifies campaign against corruption: DPM Shresha
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has informed that government had intensified campaign against corruption. Good governance is top priority of government, he reminded at a programme organized by the Gorkha Cultural society in the federal capital on Monday.
“Writer, artist, literati and journalists have significant role to spur campaign against esurient interest, corruption and individualist attitude,” he said, adding that government was committed to taking country towards development and prosperity along with the protection of achievements made through long struggles.
DPM Shrestha viewed all sides concerned should be united to make country prosperous so that Gorkha district would also be an exemplary place. Artists’ role is unparalleled to protect and promote original identity and culture.
He shared that ‘Gorkha Heritage Settlement’ was being developed to promote Gorkha as a cultural town by protecting art, culture, language and costumes. Gorkha district has played a significant role on Nepal’s democratic movements, DPM Shrestha reminded.
On the occasion, Chairman of Gorkha Cultural Society, Suman Pandit, said the Society was set up eight years back by bringing together people from various walks of life from Gorkha, who have been staying in Kathmandu. The people affiliated to the Society range from singers to journalists.
