Hikmat Bahadur Karki Appointed Chief Minister of Koshi Province

Hikmat Bahadur Karki has been appointed as the new Chief Minister of Koshi Province, following provisions outlined in Article 168 (5) of the Constitution. Karki, a representative from Jhapa-5 (Ka) in the Province Assembly, secured his position with the backing of 52 members from both the CPN (UML) and the CPN (Maoist Centre).

According to the Office of the Province Chief, Chief Minister Karki is scheduled to take his oath of office and secrecy today. His appointment marks a significant political development in Koshi province.
