Home Minister Holds Meeting with Israeli Ambassador

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane engaged in discussions with Israel’s Ambassador to Nepal, Hanan Godar, at the Ministry of Home Affairs today. The meeting, characterized by courtesy and cooperation, underscored the commitment of both nations to enhance bilateral ties and address mutual concerns.

Ambassador Godar conveyed his congratulations to Minister Lamichhane on his recent appointment as Home Minister, highlighting the significance of the position in shaping Nepal’s domestic affairs. Among the key topics on the agenda was the welfare of Nepali citizens residing in Israel. The discussion also touched upon avenues for strengthening educational opportunities, including scholarships for Nepali students, and ensuring the safe repatriation of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali national.

Addressing the concern over Bipin Joshi’s situation, Ambassador Godar informed Minister Lamichhane about the Israeli government’s efforts to support the families of Nepalis affected, demonstrating a shared commitment to humanitarian causes.

Minister Lamichhane, in turn, expressed his desire for a peaceful resolution to the longstanding conflict between Israel and Palestine, emphasizing Nepal’s stance on promoting peace and stability on the global stage. Both parties also explored potential areas for collaboration, ranging from agriculture to information technology, with a focus on fostering economic growth and job creation.
