IME Limited Recognized as Top Income Tax Contributor in Remittance Sector

In a commendable acknowledgment of its financial responsibility, IME Limited has been recognized as the leading income tax contributor among all remittance companies. The prestigious accolade was bestowed upon Hem Raj Dhakal, the founder and director of IME Limited, by Finance Minister Dr. Prakasharan Mahat during a special ceremony organized by the Internal Revenue Department in Kathmandu on National Tax Day 2080.

For the fiscal year 2078-79, IME Limited stood out as the highest income tax contributor within the remittance sector among companies in 16 different categories. Established in 2001, IME has played a pivotal role in institutionalizing the remittance sector in Nepal. The company’s significant contribution to the formal economy, particularly in bringing foreign currency into Nepal through the banking network, earned it recognition on National Tax Day.
