Incessant Rainfall Disrupts Flights Across Nepal

Incessant rainfall across the country since Monday night has significantly affected flights. According to the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Office, both domestic and international flights from TIA have been disrupted due to poor visibility caused by the continuous rain.

Jagannath Niraula, General Manager at TIA, reported that a Turkish Airlines plane was diverted to Lucknow, India, and an Air India plane to Banaras this morning. Regular domestic flights have also been affected, resulting in delays.

Niraula mentioned that with the improvement in visibility, flights are now resuming regular operations from TIA.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast heavy to extremely heavy rainfall for today and tomorrow. There is a particular chance of heavy rainfall in one or two places within Koshi Province, Madhes Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, and Sudurpaschim Province.
