Incident in Sindhuli Sparks Public Outrage: Bus Set Ablaze After Fatal Collision

In a tragic turn of events, a passenger bus traveling from Manthali to Kathmandu became the center of public fury after it fatally struck two motorcycle riders, igniting the ire of locals. The incident occurred at Bohoretar along the BP Highway in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-3.

The ill-fated bus, bearing the registration number Bagmati Pradesh-01-006 Kha 4593, collided with a motorcycle, claiming the lives of the two riders. The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Sushan Rai from Halesi-Tuwachung Municipality 2 of Khotang, the motorcycle’s driver, and 18-year-old Munakala Rai from Diktel Municipality-10 of Khotang.

The collision resulted in a wave of anger among the community, leading to an escalation of the situation. Enraged locals set the bus ablaze in protest against the tragic incident. The fire caused extensive damage to the vehicle, and the resulting chaos disrupted traffic on the BP Highway.

Chief of the District Police Office in Sindhuli, SP Rajkumar Silwal, confirmed the unfortunate demise of the two motorcycle-borne individuals. The victims, Sushan Rai and Munakala Rai, succumbed to their injuries after the bus struck their motorcycle.

Authorities are now grappling with the aftermath of the incident, working to restore order and manage the consequences of the public’s ire. The situation remains tense in the area, and efforts are underway to address the grievances of the community while ensuring the safety and security of all parties involved.
