India Announces Increased Grant to Nepal in New Budget

In the budget presented today by the Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Government of India announced a grant of 11.20 billion rupees to Nepal for the financial year 2024/2025. This represents a significant increase in support for Nepal compared to the previous financial year.

For the financial year 2023/2024, the Indian government had initially allocated 8.80 billion rupees to Nepal. However, this amount was later revised and increased to 10.40 billion rupees. The latest budget reflects India’s ongoing commitment to supporting Nepal’s development and strengthening bilateral relations.

The grant is expected to be utilized in various sectors to aid Nepal’s economic growth and development initiatives.
