‘India Will Be Naxalism-Free in 3 Years’

India’s Union Home Minister Amit Shah affirmed on Saturday that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation is poised to become completely free of the Naxalism menace within the next three years. Shah made this assertion while addressing the 60th Raising Day celebrations of the Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) at the SSB Complex in Tezpur, Assam.

Highlighting the valor and dedication of the SSB in countering Naxalism, Shah commended the collaborative efforts of SSB, CRPF, and BSF in pushing the Naxal movement to the brink. “Along with safeguarding the borders of friendly nations like Nepal and Bhutan, the SSB has played a crucial role in combating Naxalites in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar,” stated the Union Home Minister.

Expressing gratitude for the sacrifices made by the SSB in the fight against terrorism, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah acknowledged the collective efforts of SSB, CRPF, BSF, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Indian Army. He emphasized the integral role of SSB in preserving national security.

As a gesture of recognition, Shah announced that the government has issued a commemorative postal stamp on the occasion of the 60th Raising Day of SSB. “This stamp will serve as a lasting tribute to the unwavering dedication and duty of the SSB, resonating with the people of our nation,” he said.

Shah also shed light on the government’s commitment to the welfare of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), including the CRPF. “In the last nine years, Prime Minister Modi has taken numerous steps for the welfare of all CAPFs, stationed on the border, such as the SSB,” Shah affirmed.

Providing a historical context, Shah recalled the establishment of SSB in 1963 after the India-China war and its subsequent role in protecting the India-Nepal border since 2001 and the India-Bhutan border since 2004 following the ‘One Border One Force’ policy implemented by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The 60th Raising Day celebration was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, symbolizing the collaborative efforts between the central and state governments in ensuring the security and well-being of the nation.
