India’s EAM Jaishankar Meets UML Chair Oli
India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, currently on a two-day visit to Nepal, engaged in talks with the top leaders of political parties of Nepal on Thursday.
After the 7th Nepal-India Joint Commission, Jaishankar met Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, CPN Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, LSP Chairman Mahanth Thakur, JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav and other leaders.
Jaishankar met the main opposition leader and CPN UML Chairman, KP Sharma Oli, on Thursday afternoon at Dwarika’s Hotel in Battisputali.
In the meeting with all the leaders, the relations between the two countries and various issues of mutual interest were discussed.
In the meeting with the leaders, Jaishankar was of the opinion that he would try to take the relationship with Nepal to a higher level.
Earlier in the day, Foreign Minister Jaishankar commenced his visit with discussions with President Ram Chandra Paudel at Sheetal Niwas. Subsequently, he had an extensive one-hour dialogue with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the Singha Darbar. Following these high-profile meetings, Jaishankar participated in the joint commission meeting held at the Yak and Yeti Hotel, focusing on key issues of mutual interest.
