Investigation Officer of National Investigation Department (NID) Found Dead in Sarlahi

The Sarlahi police have found the lifeless body of investigation officer, Basant Sah, belonging to the National Investigation Department (NID). The grim incident took place in Ishwarpur municipality 9, Khoria tol of Sarlahi.

According to the Sarlahi Police, the lifeless body of Basant Sah, a resident of Bayalwas Bazar in Ishwarpur Municipality-6, was found on Wednesday morning under a culvert near Khoria Toll, along the Phuljor-Tribhuvannagar road section. At the scene, authorities also located the Bagmati Pradesh number 02-016 P0071 motorcycle, which he had been using, seemingly involved in an accident.

Upon examination of the incident, Sarlahi Police Chief SP Nareshraj Subedi revealed that it appeared to be a motorcycle accident in the preliminary investigation. The impact of the accident had severely crushed Sah’s chest and stomach, while the helmet strap was also found tightened around him.

SP Subedi stated, “At this point, it seems that he died in a motorcycle accident, but more details will emerge after the post-mortem examination.”

The timeline leading up to the unfortunate incident indicated that Sah had left the office around 6:45 p.m. the previous day (Tuesday). At 9:45 p.m. o, he had contacted his family, instructing them to expect him home by 10:00 p.m. to prepare dinner. SP Subedi added, “We are currently investigating where he went after leaving the office and who he might have met.”

The police promptly collected evidence from the scene and transferred Sah’s body to Malangwa Provincial Hospital for post-mortem examination, with hopes of shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the tragic event. Further updates on the investigation will be disclosed once more information becomes available.
