Ireland Wolves Complete Sweep with Convincing Victory Over Nepal-A

In a thrilling showdown at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Ireland Wolves asserted their dominance, securing a comprehensive victory over Nepal-A by 69 runs. The win not only sealed their triumph in the final one-day match but also marked a clean sweep in the three-match series.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Ireland Wolves displayed remarkable prowess, setting an imposing target of 285 runs for the hosts. Spearheaded by Stephen Doheny’s spectacular century, amassing 107 runs off 129 deliveries, and well-supported by Peter Moor (44) and Matthew Humphreys (23), the Wolves posted a formidable total of 284 runs on the scoreboard, albeit losing nine wickets within the stipulated 50 overs. Rijan Dhakal and Ranjit Kumar emerged as the chief tormentors for Nepal-A, claiming three wickets each.

In response, Nepal-A fought valiantly but ultimately fell short of the target, managing to accumulate 215 runs before being bowled out in 39.4 overs. Arjun Kumal emerged as the shining star for Nepal-A with an outstanding century, scoring 102 runs off 118 balls. Despite Kumal’s heroic efforts, Nepal-A struggled to counter the disciplined bowling onslaught from Ireland Wolves, with Ben White wreaking havoc by clinching five crucial wickets. Arjun Saud’s contribution of 36 runs provided some respite for the hosts. Gavin Hoey also made his presence felt, securing four vital wickets for Ireland Wolves.

The Wolves concluded their memorable tour of Nepal on a high note, clinching victory in the third OD. Prior to this, they engaged in a thrilling three-match T20 series against Nepal’s second-string side from March 29 to April 1, emerging triumphant with a 2-1 scoreline. Earlier, the Wolves had also squared off against Nepal’s senior men’s cricket team in a riveting two-match T20 series.
