Karnali CM Kandel Wins Confidence Vote

Yam Lal Kandel, the Chief Minister of Karnali Province, successfully won a confidence vote in the Provincial Assembly on Thursday, thereby securing his leadership position. CM Kandel received the backing of 23 lawmakers out of the 35 present during the vote.

The Provincial Assembly, which consists of 40 members, saw two absences and one member previously suspended from participation. The vote showed significant support for CM Kandel, as he needed only 21 votes to maintain his position but exceeded this number, reflecting strong backing within the Assembly.

Support for CM Kandel came from various parties, including nine votes from the CPN-UML, 13 from CPN (Maoist Center), and one from CPN (Unified Socialist). This coalition highlights a broad base of political support across different party lines.
