Kathmandu Court Orders Min Bahadur Gurung’s Release on Rs 24.6 Million Bail

The Kathmandu District Court has granted bail to Min Bahadur Gurung, the owner of Bhatbhateni Supermarket, in the Baluwatar land grab case.

Judge Bholanath Dhakal’s bench issued the release order for Gurung and 16 other individuals on Sunday, as confirmed by the court’s registrar, Kaushaleshwar Gyawali.

Gurung has been required to post a bail amount of Rs 24.6 million as part of the release conditions. The bail hearing for this case concluded on Sunday, marking a significant step in the legal proceedings.

The case originated from a complaint filed by the District Government Attorney’s Office in Kathmandu on August 27, which alleged document forgery. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police had initially named 289 individuals as defendants in the case, with an additional 21 defendants who have already passed away.
