Kathmandu University to Launch Bachelor’s Course in Aviation Management
Kathmandu University (KU) is set to introduce a new bachelor’s Level course in Aviation Management, marking a significant milestone in Nepal’s higher education landscape. The School of Management at KU, in collaboration with Simrik Venture and Siddhartha Banasthali School, will be the first to offer this course in the country.
The inaugural batch will enroll 33 students for the four-year program, which aims to equip them with comprehensive knowledge and skills in aviation operations and the effective management of airlines and airports. Rameshwor Thapa, Chairman of Simrik Venture, highlighted the course’s objective to provide practical training in various aspects of aviation management.
The curriculum will cover a wide range of topics, including aviation laws, aviation security, airport planning and management, aviation marketing, airline operations, aviation economics, the importance of tourism, and human resource management. “These courses will provide practical training on the management of aviation activities,” Thapa explained.
Dr. Bhola Thapa, Vice Chancellor of KU, expressed confidence in the program’s potential to produce skilled professionals in the aviation sector. “This is the first attempt in Nepal. We are confident in producing skilled human resources in Nepal in this subject,” he stated.
The new program reflects KU’s commitment to advancing education and meeting the growing demand for specialized skills in Nepal’s aviation industry.
