Maoist Centre observes 131st ‘Mao Day’, Prachanda Calls for Dynamic Marxist Ideology

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ also the Chair of CPN (Maoist Centre), delivered a significant address on the 131st birth anniversary of Chinese leader Mao Zedong at a special program held at the party central office in Parisdanda.

In his speech, Prime Minister Prachanda described Marxism as a philosophy essential for making a substantive analysis of concrete situations. He emphasized that cultivating Marxist thoughts remains a primary challenge for the Communist movement, especially considering the dynamic global context.

“The world has undergone significant changes since Mao’s time, with imperialism persisting through new strategies and actions. As Maoists, we need to adapt ourselves to the current context,” stated Prachanda, highlighting the importance of aligning ideology with the evolving national and international scenarios.

Remembering Mao Zedong on his birth anniversary, Prachanda underscored the significance of analyzing and understanding ideology and revolution in a fundamental way. He asserted that social justice, good governance, and prosperity form the foundation for charting a course toward socialism, and the incumbent government is actively working towards these goals.

“The government accords top priority to social justice, good governance, and prosperity to create a foundation for socialism. We will move ahead accordingly,” Prime Minister Prachanda affirmed.

Taking the opportunity, he announced that the party would unveil a new campaign following the conclusion of the ongoing “Maoists with People: Special Transformation Campaign,” set to end on January 1. The four-month campaign aimed at connecting with the masses and fostering a deeper understanding of Maoist principles.

Among the dignitaries attending the event were Maoist Centre’s vice chair Pampha Bhusal, general secretary Dev Prasad Gurung, and deputy general secretary Barshaman Pun. The gathering marked a momentous occasion to reflect on Mao Zedong’s legacy and discuss the party’s future direction in line with evolving global dynamics.
