Minister Sharma Stresses Good Governance for Economic Prosperity

In today’s session of the second general assembly of FNCCI Bagmati Province, Minister for Communications and Information, Rekha Sharma, emphasized the crucial role of good governance in laying the groundwork for prosperity. Minister Sharma highlighted the necessity for good governance across both public and private sectors, asserting its potential to bolster economic advancement.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by resource constraints, Minister Sharma expressed greater concern over the underutilization of available resources. She candidly admitted to irregularities and leakages within the government sector, alongside tax evasion and misuse of public assets within the private sector.

Minister Sharma underscored the government’s responsibility to enact meaningful change in people’s lives by strengthening the reformed political system, particularly by elevating economic conditions. Emphasizing the significance of national economic development, she advocated for increased focus on sectors such as agriculture, tourism, hydropower, and IT to drive economic growth.

Addressing concerns about crony capitalism, Minister Sharma advocated for collective investment and equitable benefit sharing to foster a socialist economy, countering the exploitation of public resources for individual profit. She emphasized the need for augmented investment in national capital formation and the pursuit of self-reliance, reaffirming the government’s commitment to these objectives.

As the nation navigates its economic trajectory, Minister Sharma’s remarks serve as a clarion call for enhanced governance practices and strategic investment to realize the goal of sustainable prosperity.
