
National Assembly Lawmakers Urge Government Action on Justice, Development, and Public Concerns

Lawmakers in the National Assembly have urged the government to address pressing national issues, raising concerns over recent tragic incidents and development priorities. During today’s session, they called for swift action and justice in cases of violence and emphasized the need for policy focus on key public concerns.
Ganga Kumari Belbase demanded a thorough investigation and stringent legal action against those responsible for the murders of Saraswati Khadka and Ishwari Khadka in Dhakari Rural Municipality, Achham. Echoing similar sentiments, Sharada Devi Bhatt called for the harshest possible punishment for the perpetrators, expressing deep concern over the continued rise in violence against women.
Gopi Bahadur Sarki Achhami called for justice in the case of Dinesh BK, a 22-year-old who was allegedly beaten to death by locals when he visited his loved one in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchok. He urged the government to ensure a proper investigation and hold those responsible accountable.
Jag Prasad Sharma emphasized the need for the government to waive electricity tariffs for drinking water distribution, highlighting clean drinking water as a fundamental right of the people.
Taraman Swar, Maya Prasad Sharma, and Tulsa Kumari Dahal stressed the importance of prioritizing Sudurpaschim Province’s capital development, accelerating the reconstruction of homes for those affected by the Jajarkot earthquake, and ensuring that the ongoing federal parliamentary session focuses on enacting laws in line with constitutional principles.
