NC Denies Negotiations with UML for New Government Formation

Ramesh Lekhak, Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress, has refuted claims of ongoing discussions with the CPN-UML to form a new government. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Lekhak categorically denied such negotiations amidst rising political speculation.

“There have been no formal talks between Nepali Congress and CPN-UML regarding the formation of a new government,” stated Lekhak, addressing the media. This statement comes in the wake of reports suggesting potential negotiations between the major political parties in Nepal.

Lekhak also commented on the need for stability, acknowledging calls from various quarters for major parties to lead the government, especially considering the instability experienced under the current coalition of smaller parties. He emphasized, however, that the Nepali Congress remains committed to supporting the present coalition government and has no plans to disrupt it.

This clarification from Lekhak aims to quell the ongoing rumors and reaffirms Nepali Congress’s position in Nepal’s complex political arena.
