Nepal Actively Engages in Raisina Dialogue, Strengthening Regional Diplomacy

Nepal’s proactive involvement in the ongoing Raisina Dialogue, a prestigious multilateral forum hosted by India’s Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with the Observer Research Foundation, marks a significant step towards enhancing regional cooperation and engagement.

Foreign Minister NP Saud, representing Nepal, has been actively participating in discussions encompassing a wide array of critical issues including security, diplomacy, development, environment, and human rights. Amidst the assembly of foreign ministers, military officials, analysts, and experts from across the globe, Minister Saud’s presence underscores Nepal’s commitment to fostering constructive dialogue and collaboration on the international stage.

During a meeting between Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Foreign Minister Saud on Friday, Dr. Jaishankar expressed gratitude for Nepal’s enthusiastic participation in the Raisina Dialogue. Emphasizing the significance of Nepal’s engagement in such prestigious fora, Dr. Jaishankar highlighted the mutual interests discussed during their bilateral interaction.

 

“The presence of Foreign Minister Saud at the esteemed Raisina Dialogue exemplifies Nepal’s dedication to regional engagement and cooperation,” remarked Dr. Jaishankar.

The discussions between the two foreign ministers come at a pivotal juncture as Nepal and India strive to bolster their bilateral relations across various domains including trade, investment, and infrastructure development. Minister Saud’s visit to New Delhi also entails meetings with other eminent Indian dignitaries, fostering enhanced communication and cooperation between the two nations.

The positive outcomes anticipated from the Raisina Dialogue, coupled with the dialogue between the Prime Ministers of Nepal and India, are poised to pave the way for further collaboration and progress in Nepal-India relations.

In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was revealed that Minister Saud addressed the forum on February 23, focusing on the critical topic of ‘Development Deficit: Towards a Post 2023 Agenda.’ elucidating Nepal’s perspective on the matter.
