Nepal Embassy vehicle in US vandalized and looted

The funds collected by the Nepali Embassy in Houston, USA through the operation of the consular service camp have been looted.

The embassy issuing a statement on Friday said that the money orders and cashier checks submitted by the service seekers for a fee at the consular service camp organized by the embassy from December 15 to 20 in the cities of Dallas, Austin, and Houston, were looted.

The vehicle carrying the orders and checks, parked along the route from Houston to Washington, was vandalized and looted at 12:30 PM local time on Friday, the embassy said.

The embassy has reported to the Houston Police Department and Diplomatic Security Division Houston and other agencies regarding this incident and is trying to recover the stolen money order and cashier checks.
