Nepal Stock Exchange Sees Slight Increase, Ends Week on Positive Note

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) concluded the trading week with a modest rise, gaining 5.63 points to close at 1,966.23 on Thursday. The market saw a balanced performance with the number of companies experiencing a rise in share prices equal to those that saw a decline. A total of 115 companies recorded price increases, while 115 others dropped, and four remained steady.

Sector-wise, the Hotels & Tourism sub-index led the gains, soaring by 6.96 percent. Most other sectors also saw slight improvements, except for Life Insurance, Manufacturing & Processing, and Microfinance which faced declines.

Leading the day’s trading volume was Nepal Finance Ltd, with transactions worth Rs 169.71 million. Soaltee Hotel Ltd and First Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd followed with Rs 144.79 million and Rs 96.64 million in turnover, respectively.

Overall market activity was robust, with total trades amounting to Rs 3.12 billion across 49,332 transactions involving 7.05 million shares. The market’s total capitalization reached a new high of Rs 3.11 trillion, indicating strong investor confidence.
