Nepal Stock Exchange Witnesses Significant Drop, Closes with a 17.23 Point Decline

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) experienced a substantial drop of 17.23 points, closing at 2,070.84 points on Wednesday. The sensitive index also recorded a decline, falling by 4.25 points to reach 387.07 points.

Trading activities were robust, with a total of 14,337,738-unit shares from 307 companies being exchanged, amounting to a transaction value of Rs 5.24 billion.

Despite the overall bearish trend, a few companies stood out with impressive gains. Nepal Insurance Co. Ltd., Infinity Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ILBS), Manakamana Engineering Hydropower Limited (MEHL), and Chirkhwa Hydropower Limited (CKHL) emerged as the top gainers, each witnessing a surge of 10.00 percent in their stock prices.

On the flip side, BPW Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (BPW) faced a challenging day, leading the list of top losers as its stock price plummeted by 10.00 percent.

Closing the trading day, the total market capitalization settled at Rs 3.21 trillion, reflecting the overall valuation of listed companies on the Nepal Stock Exchange.
