NEPSE Index Falls by 28.68 Points

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) encountered a fluctuating session on Thursday, marked by a significant decline in the NEPSE index by 28.68 points, settling at 1972.09 points.

The week concluded with a notable 1.43 percent downturn, reflecting a substantial turnover of 2.59 billion, surpassing the previous day’s trading volume.

While the overall trend leaned towards losses, investors of only 17 companies managed to secure gains, contrasting sharply with shareholders of 220 companies who experienced declines. Additionally, share prices of 11 companies remained stagnant.

Bottlers Nepal Balaju stood out amidst the turbulence, witnessing a remarkable surge with its shares soaring by 10 percent. Following closely behind, Manakamana Smart Microfinance recorded a gain of 9.86 percent.

Conversely, Joshi Hydropower experienced a negative circuit, contributing to losses for investors in Upper Sange and Maulung Hydro.

Sonapur Minerals emerged as the highlight of the day, boasting the highest turnover of 11 crores.

The Nepal Stock Exchange reported a total of 48,349 shares bought and sold throughout the trading day, indicating active participation despite the market’s mixed performance.
