NEPSE Records Losses, Himalayan Reinsurance Leads Turnovers

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) experienced a setback as it recorded a loss of 14.46 points, concluding the week’s last trading day at 2,062.03 points.

Initially, there was optimism for extending gains on the second day, but the Nepse index eventually closed 0.69% lower. Out of the listed companies, 163 saw declines, while 79 witnessed advancements, and seven remained unchanged.

Himalayan Reinsurance Company Ltd maintained its lead in turnovers, with shares worth Rs 228.57 million traded. Following closely were Sagarmatha Jalvidyuth Company Ltd and Joshi Hydropower Development Company, with turnovers of Rs 115.96 million and Rs 107.55 million, respectively.

In terms of trading groups, all groups except Manufacturing & Processing ended the day in the red. The Finance sub-index experienced the most significant loss, down by 2.71%, followed by Others and Development Bank, with losses of 1.62% and 1.4%, respectively.

Thursday’s trading saw shares worth Rs 3.87 billion exchanged through 81,056 transactions on the bourse.
