NEPSE Sees Decline in General Index Amidst Mixed Sector Performances

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) encountered a downward trend on Tuesday, marking the third trading day of the week. The NEPSE index witnessed a decline of 6.24 points, closing at 2067.29 today, reflecting a mixed performance across various sectors.

Trading activities remained active as a total of 9,478,933 shares from 307 companies were exchanged, with a turnover reaching Rs. 3,633,936,554.

In sector-specific movements, the Financial group observed a rise of 2.10 points, while the Life Insurance group saw a slight increase of 0.06 points. Similarly, the Microfinance group noted a positive movement of 2.03 points. However, other subgroup indices experienced declines.

The Production and Promotion group faced a decrease of 1.38 percent, closely followed by the Trade group with a decline of 1.31 percent.

Noteworthy movements in individual companies included Buddhabhumi Hydropower Company Limited and Sarbottam Cement Limited, which hit the positive circuit in their share prices. Conversely, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme-2 and Peoples Hydropower Company Limited witnessed decreases of 7.08 percent and 6.91 percent, respectively.

Among the notable gainers, Dhaulagiri Microfinance Financial Institution Limited saw an increase of 9.99 percent, while Infinity Microfinance Financial Institution Limited experienced a rise of 9.45 percent.

Shivam Cement Limited emerged as the most traded company in terms of transaction volume, with business worth Rs. 259,722,367. On the other hand, Laxmi Equity Fund led in the number of shares traded, totaling 699,642 shares.

Investors and analysts are closely monitoring the market dynamics amidst these fluctuations, assessing both sectoral movements and individual company performances for potential investment opportunities.
