No Need for Inquiry Committee on Me, Says Home Minister Lamichhane

Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has dismissed the need for a parliamentary committee to investigate allegations against him, stating that the Attorney General’s office found no grounds for such actions. Addressing the media after a meeting initiated by Speaker Devraj Ghimire with leaders of major political parties on Tuesday, Lamichhane emphasized the lack of evidence necessitating an inquiry.

In discussions concerning other governmental matters, the Home Minister highlighted the administration’s commitment to addressing the issues plaguing cooperatives. “We are fast-tracking policy and structural reforms to ensure that savers get their money back promptly. We anticipate opposition support when the bill is presented in parliament,” he said.

Additionally, Lamichhane mentioned a fruitful diplomatic conversation with the Home Minister of Malaysia, focusing on matters concerning GB Rai. The specifics of the discussion, however, were not detailed in his remarks.
