No Sign of Nepali Bipin: Not Among Those Released by Hamas
The recent agreement between Israel and Hamas for the exchange of prisoners and hostages did not include Bipin Joshi, a Nepali national who has been held captive by the Palestinian militant group since October 7.
The exchange unfolded over two days, with 24 individuals released on Friday and an additional 17 on Saturday. Despite diplomatic efforts by the Nepali government, Joshi was not among the released prisoners, leaving his current whereabouts unknown.
During the recent visit of Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, to Nepal, the government sought assistance in the rescue efforts for Joshi. The Nepali authorities have also reached out to the Israeli government, urging their cooperation in securing Joshi’s release.
Hailing from Kanchanpur, Nepal, Bipin Joshi’s continued captivity adds to the growing concerns for his well-being and safe return. The situation remains fluid as diplomatic efforts persist in securing the release of the Nepali national.
