Not thought anything about becoming President candidate: Chair Nepal
Chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said his party would take the election of the country’s new President as sharing of power.
Talking to media persons here Tuesday, Nepal said that no concrete proposal was made before him for becoming the President. “Rumours abound in political circles. However, no final decision has been taken on it. Although having intention is one thing, I’ve not thought of anything about becoming the President,” he observed.
His party had not decided about the President’s candidacy, Chair Nepal said, adding that the party however had a stake in power sharing. “It is unwise to always sacrifice for others,” he maintained.
According to leader Nepal, a comprehensive discussion is imperative. “Although the media report came that UML Chair KP Sharma Oli proposed him to become President, I think it is appropriate to not disclose everything on it now,” Chair Nepal commented. Moreover, he said everything that comes in the media is not true. So, it is not wise to speak in haste, added the former Prime Minister.
Moreover, all sides should be serious for the protection of national interest. “We must be aware to protect the constitution and take the country towards socialism,” he underscored.
