Oli Criticizes Congress’s Role in Prachanda’s Cabinet

KP Oli, Chairman of the CPN-UML, strongly criticized the Nepali Congress (NC) for its role in Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s’ cabinet. Oli alleged that NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has become subservient to the CPN-Maoist Center Chairman.

Speaking at the inauguration of Guru Luintel Park in Okhaldhunga, Oli, the leader of the main opposition party in parliament, expressed his concerns. He argued that Deuba is prioritizing PM Dahal’s interests over defending democracy in Nepal.

Oli stated, “Let’s set aside discussions about the Nepali Congress for today. Although NC cadres listening to me may be displeased, the truth remains that Sher Bahadurji is acting as Prachanda’s ally, rather than safeguarding democracy.”

Furthermore, Oli emphasized that the government has failed to effectively combat gold smuggling, highlighting an ongoing issue that has been a source of concern in Nepal.
