Over 65,000 Nepali Youths Seek Opportunities Abroad in Poush

In a notable surge, a total of 65,813 Nepali youths embarked on journeys to foreign job destinations during the month of Poush (mid-December to mid-January), as per the latest data released by the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE).

The data revealed that 26,723 individuals left the country after securing new labor approvals through various recruitment companies, while an additional 31,398 youths departed with re-entry approvals, emphasizing the persistent trend of Nepali youth seeking employment opportunities abroad.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) emerged as the most sought-after job destination, attracting 13,860 men and 2,525 women from Nepal. Following closely, Saudi Arabia welcomed 14,307 Nepali workers, while Qatar and Malaysia hosted 14,018 and 8,091 arrivals, respectively.

Nepali workers also found opportunities in several other countries, with Kuwait, Japan, Bahrain, and Hong Kong receiving 3,598, 790, 415, and 9 individuals, respectively.

Noteworthy was the growing presence of Nepali workers in European countries, with Romania welcoming 1,058, the United Kingdom receiving 187, and Croatia witnessing 558 arrivals. Other European destinations hosting Nepali workers included Slovakia (41), Cyprus (357), Malta (263), Poland (183), Serbia (135), and Turkey (20).

The data underscores the ongoing trend of Nepali youths seeking employment opportunities globally, with a diverse range of countries offering avenues for skill utilization and economic advancement.
