Parliamentary Hearing Committee Sets Hearing Date for Proposed Chief Justice
The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has confirmed that a hearing for the proposed Chief Justice, Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, is scheduled to take place on Monday.
In a meeting convened today, the committee reached the decision to conduct a hearing for the appointment of Shrestha as the Chief Justice of Nepal. This hearing will serve as a pivotal step in the process of confirming his recommendation for the esteemed position.
Previously, on August 9, the Committee had invited complaints, if any, against the proposed Chief Justice. As a result, three complaints have been submitted to the Committee. These complaints were required to be submitted in a respectful manner and supported by relevant evidence.
On the upcoming Monday, the Committee will facilitate discussions with the complainants before officially commencing the hearing for the recommendation. During the session, the proposed Chief Justice will present his credentials, emphasizing his expertise, professional background, strategic plans, and legal philosophy.
Upon the conclusion of the hearing, the Committee will deliberate and make a decision regarding the endorsement of the recommendation.
The outcome of this hearing holds significant importance in shaping the future leadership of Nepal’s judicial system.
