PM Prachanda Admits Shortcomings, Pledges Reforms for Dissatisfaction

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda expressed deep concern about the increasing inclination towards negative activities within Nepal during a program in Lalitpur on Monday. The Prime Minister emphasized that the focus on negativity hampers the nation’s progress, leading to degradation and hindering overall development.

Addressing the significant number of young people leaving the country, PM Dahal admitted that the lack of job opportunities is a contributing factor. However, he highlighted that it is not the sole reason, pointing out instances where even teachers and headmasters are leaving their jobs, opting for employment abroad.

“There is a rush of young people going abroad, and while employment opportunities are a concern, it’s not the only factor. In some instances, even teachers and headmasters are leaving their jobs in the country,” PM Dahal stated.

The Prime Minister emphasized the urgent need to address the prevailing negative mindset in the country, stating, “If a person’s thinking is wrong, even if provided with a job, they will not stay in the country.”

Acknowledging the government’s shortcomings, PM Dahal promised to work towards addressing dissatisfaction. He outlined key initiatives, including the introduction of federal civil law and changes to the education system to discourage the sole reliance on going abroad for opportunities.

“We have not accomplished as much as we should have, and I admit it. Over the next year, I will work diligently to address all dissatisfaction and encourage positive efforts,” Prime Minister Dahal assured.

The Prime Minister’s commitment to fostering a positive environment and implementing reforms to retain talent within Nepal signals a proactive approach to addressing the challenges faced by the country.
