PM Prachanda Asserts Nepal’s Standing: “Now Nepal Can’t be Minus”

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ expressed satisfaction with COP-28, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change held in Dubai.

Returning to Nepal on Sunday after participating in the crucial summit, Prachanda addressed the media at the airport, stating, “I am satisfied; as it was said, it happened.”

Highlighting Nepal’s robust representation at COP-28, the Prime Minister asserted that the country, leading the coalition of mountainous nations, successfully presented its case and is poised to receive substantial financial support. He credited the global impact of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ pre-conference visit to Nepal for the positive outcomes.

“We had a strong presence at the policy level. Now Nepal can’t be minus,” said Prime Minister Prachanda, emphasizing the country’s newfound standing on the international stage regarding climate change initiatives. He further noted the prioritization of Nepal by Secretary General Guterres and expressed confidence that this recognition would translate into significant financial assistance for the mountainous nation.
