President Approves Nepali Army Deployment for By-Elections

President Ramchandra Paudel has authorized the deployment of the Nepali Army to ensure security during the upcoming by-elections scheduled for April 27. This decision comes after recommendations from both the National Security Council and the Council of Ministers on April 22.

“The President has sanctioned the mobilization of the Nepali Army for the by-elections for the House of Representatives and Province Assembly under Article 66(2) of the Constitution,” stated Sailaja Regmi Bhattarai, spokesperson for the President’s Office.

The deployment aims to maintain law and order during the electoral process.
